HAIR COLOR. If you want to color your brows, you shouldn’t do it with a color that you are using for your hair. Use a vegetable-based colorant or tinted brow mascara on your arches instead of your at-home hair color, if the formulas are less harsh. You must escape using a box dye, because it can be too irritating for the skin around your eye area and can make your eyes burn and tear up.
HAIR SPRAY. You have heard that some people are using a hair spray to set their makeup, but it should NEVER be applied to your face since it contains lacquers and alcohol that makes your skin dry and cause your skin to become dehydrated and look older. Hair spray could irritate your skin, leaving it red and bumpy because of repellents it contains.
FOOT CREAMS. They are formulated to break down thick calluses on your feet, they are just too rich, thick, and sticky to be applied to your facial skin. Often contains chemical exfoliants at percentages that you never want to use on your face.
DEODORANT. Just because deodorant keeps your underarms from sweating through your shirt, it doesn’t mean it should be swiped all over your face in hopes of keeping your makeup from melting down your face. Your skin must be able to breathe. It is doing what it needs to for a reason, and you do not need to stop it!
VEGETABLE SHORTENING. Applying this on your body skin is helping treat psoriasis, but it is heavy for your face because may clog your pores, leading to breakouts.
SHAMPOO. Shampoos are manufactured to clean and do things to your hair shaft, they contain surfactants that clean your hair, stripping it of excess oil and dirt. They are not designed to deal with the delicate molecules of your skin. If you keep washing your face with shampoo, your skin would end up being really dry and flaky.
MAYONNAISE. It is not a good idea to put it on your skin, because this ingredient is hydrating your hair but it is too acidic and too occlusive, meaning it doesn’t allow your skin to breathe and can clog your pores.
BODY LOTION. Applying only one lotion on your body and face and be done with it really sound like a great idea, but in reality body lotions should NEVER be applied to your face. They are a lot thicker and contain fragrances that will irritate your facial skin. Using something more gentle and delicate is always a better choice for your face.
