Washing your hair every day using incorrect techniques can seriously damage your hair. You may be surprised, but it’s possible; you can wash your hair wrong!
Here is what you have to do to protect your hair and to avoid splitting and falling out:
- Rinse your hair
Before you apply shampoo or conditioner, you have to rinse your hair. Washing your hair with hot water helps to open up the cuticle and remove dirt and trapped product in your hair.
- If your hair is longer, first apply a conditioner
If you have long, dangling locks, after rinsing, we recommend you to run a slight amount of conditioner through your hair. Always use conditioner before you apply the shampoo; it will fill any holes in the cuticle and your hair will shine more.
- Lather shampoo only at the scalp
Don’t shampoo all of your hair. Shampoo only your scalp. More cleaning is required for the hair (this hair is younger and oiler) closest to the scalp.
- Never rinse and repeat
We all do this, but it’s not recommended. You could seriously damage your hair with too much washing.
- Try to finish with cold water
At the end, you will shut the cuticle, seal in moisture and enable greater shine with the cold water.
