Hormones control our body functions. The female hormone is estrogen, and the male hormone is testosterone. Beside them, there are also many other hormones, that play very important role in controlling the body functions.
You can control your health if you pay attention at your hormones. The hunger, the stress and weight loss are controlled by insulin cortisol and leptin hormones. We meet the word insulin every day when we talk about diabetes, so insulin determines whether blood sugar is used for immediate energy or stored as fat.
Your insulin levels are determined by what you eat and when you eat. If there is high consumption of carbohydrates in your body, insulin cannot be absorbed. If you want to have the normal level of insulin, you should make some changes in your lifestyle, such as eating small portions of vegetables, high-fiber grains and lean meats every 2-3 hours. You should also eliminate the consumption of white bread, white pasta, white sugar and processed foods from your diet.
Cortisol or stress hormone regulates the metabolism, and it controls salt and water balance. It affects blood sugar. Cortisol is telling your body to store the fat around the vital organs when you are under stress. And in this process, dangerous fatty acids into the blood are released and that is increasing the cholesterol and the level of insulin. Keeping the normal level of cortisol you should eat slowly, to lower the intake of caffeine, to sleep enough every day and to always have a walk during your lunch break.
Leptin or the hunger hormone is linked with obesity and body fat. The fat cells are releasing it and it is really powerful and it can affect the time of your body that requires feeling satiated on long term. If you want to keep the normal level of leptin in your body, you should completely eliminate sugary and processed foods, to sleep and rest enough, and to do high-intensity interval training.
