Taking the time-out
Often sign that our body needs a rest are the headaches. Many times, taking the time off in our everyday busy life doesn’t really sound like a good option. But actually, taking the 10 minutes to lie down and relax is really a good tradeoff compared to being incapacitated later on, after it gets worse. So next time, consider taking the time-out rather than fighting the sleep and making the things worse.
Chill your forehead
In many cases the nagging tension headache can completely disappear only by putting cold wet cloth or chilly compress over your forehead or eyes. People think that the pain is gone because the ice shrinks the blood vessels which leads to dulling the pain, but according to some doctors it is actually a simple counter-irritation – Your brain is paying attention to the cold, it’s not paying attention to the pain. At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter how it works, if it works, just chill your forehead and relax.
Eat, Eat, Eat
Sometimes that fuzzy feeling and headache can just be a result of low blood sugar caused by not eating anything in a while. If this is the case, eating something right away could get you right back on the tracks. Grab some food rich with magnesium such as spinach, sunflower, pumpkin seeds, or tofu and eat, eat, eat!!!
