The latest research in Asia found that there is massive production of fake rice. A lot of us don’t recognize it and buy it from the markets. We cook it for us and our families without knowing the true.
The fake rise is almost the same like the real one and that is why we can’t make a difference between the two types of rice.
It was confirmed that the fake rice cause a lot of stomach problems and can seriously affect our digestive health.
Some of the experts claim that the fake rice is composed of potatoes and synthetic rest. Others claim that there are also dangerous chemicals in it. Luckily, there are some tricks which can help us detect fake rice:
The water method
Pour some fresh rice in cold water and observe it. If the rice stays at the surface, it’s definitely fake.
The fire test
Lit some of the rice with a lighter-if it burns and smells like plastic, throw it away immediately!
The mortar and pestle test
Crush a few grains of rice with a mortar and pestle-If they’re reduced to white power the rice isn’t fake. In case you see a light-yellow discoloration in the mortar, it’s surely fake.
The mold test
Put some cooked rice in a container and leave it in a warm place for two days. After that you will see, if the rice is moldy it’s organic. The plastic rice will be free of mold after 2 days.
