Just a Weed, or an Unrecognized Health-Boosting Plant?

Unbelievable, but a lot of us have this plant in their garden without knowing its health benefits. We are talking about Purslane.

This plane has fleshy succulent leaves and stems with yellow flowers and is very resilient growing in many conditions from fertile garden soil to the poorest arid areas.

It has be shown that Purslane is rich with antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids. It boost our immune system and our metabolism.

We all know that antioxidants are very beneficial for our health and they protect us from heart disease, atherosclerosis, cancer, memory loss, and vision loss.

Omega-3 fatty acids help us in reducing the risk of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammations, Alzeimer’ disease, dementia and depression.

This plant also has a high level of vitamin A, which protects us from several disease and improve our health. It contains Vitamin C and B-complex including riboflavin, niacin and pyridoxine and a lot of minerals like iron, magnesium and calcium.

You can try growing it in your garden, but remember that Purslane starts to lose its nutritional qualities after harvesting. All you need is an empty container, some potting soil, and purslane seeds. You should sow the seeds and keep the soil moist.

Don’t thing twice try this and after several mounts you will have your own Purslane.

You can use it in salads, mix it with onions, garlic and tomatoes. You can also make a juice mixing it with lemons and honey.

It will boost your immune system and make you healthier than ever.
