The fact that we are facing many stressful problems every day doesn’t justify us for not paying attention to our body and our mind. The great time for doing Yoga or short Meditation is at the end of the day.
You will be amazed how practicing this discipline for only 10 to 15 minutes at the end of day will help you change your point of view and clear your mind.
First of all, let’s start with preparing your place. You should make yourself an atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable. Turn off all of your electronic devices, and stop all the clocks in your room or just take them out. You can light a candle and do everything that relaxes you. You can do this practice on your bed or on the ground, whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Now that everything is set and ready, it is time to start practicing some Yoga. Start by sitting in a Lotus position, which means cross – legged sitting asana in which the feet are placed on the opposing thighs. This is commonly used position for yoga, meditation and many Buddhist traditions. The asana is said to resemble a lotus, encouraging proper breathing, associating meditative practice, and fostering physical stability. It is very wondrous for those who try this for the first time.
Place your foot on the top of the opposite thigh with its sole facing upward and heel close to the abdomen. Then, lift up the other foot slowly and place it on the opposite thigh in symmetrical way. Your knees are in contact with the ground. You are centering the torso above the hips. Relax your arms, and put your hands on your knees. Stay in lotus position. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Start to breathe deeply. It is actually very hard to stop your thoughts, but you will learn it by the time. At the beginning of your bedtime yoga / meditation path, if you can’t focus on your breathing and stop all of the mess that is going on in your head, we recommend you to imagine a small dot in front of you. This will make it easier for you to stay focused on the dot and stop thinking about everything else. Staying in this position even for 10 seconds means a lot for your harmony. At the end of the practice, you will be refreshed and you will start to think clearly. You are the MASTER of your thoughts and your body.
We all know that the “ I DON’T HAVE TIME “ phrase, is the grown – up version of THE DOG ATE MY HOMEWORK. At the end of the day we can afford ourselves 10 – 15 minutes of yoga / meditation and make our body healthy. It is spiritual, mental and physical injection for our brain. A positive mind, creates positive vibes and positive life. You can’t always control what goes on outside, but you can always control what goes inside.
