We all know the very popular spice known as Laurel leaf. However few know that, aside from food preparation, the leaves from this Mediterranean evergreen tree can be used for many health purposes as well.

You can prepare a curative oil from these leaves, with many excellent health properties.

The health benefits of the laurel leaf:

  • 30 grams of laurel leaves

After you mash the laurel leaves, pour the olive oil over them. After that, put the mixture into a glass bottle and close it tightly, then put the bottle in a dark and cool place and leave it there for about 2 weeks. From time to time, shake the contents of the bottle. Strain the oil through a cheesecloth after 2 weeks, and transfer the liquid into another container. You have to keep the derived laurel oil in a cold room.

Laurel oil as a medicine:

Gently heat the laurel oil on a steam and rub the oil thoroughly on the painful joints.

You can also use the laurel oil for treatment of inflamed lymph ulcers, migraine, and diseases of the ear. You can use it for a severe headaches and all you have to do is to massage the temples with this oil. In very short time, the pain will disappear.

Laurel oil has the ability to reduce the increased body temperature and it could replace the aspirin. It also helps eliminating pain in the stomach and the intestines, it normalizes the liver and the kidney function, and it also improves the appetite.

You can use the laurel oil also in a preparation of lotion which will solve your problems with the skin on your face. It is very helpful in fighting acne and blackheads.
